Test Manager Collaboration Continues – Second Tosca Test Managers Meet up in Wellington

Its good when a community comes together to share ideas. Even better when it is over a glass of wine and with people that are now familiar to one another.

From the first Wellington Tosca Test Managers meet up in June 2019 there was a firm commitment to hold a second before the end of the year. 24th September was the agreed date. This time those attending were meeting as familiar faces having taken the time to set up direct meetings following on from the June 2019 introductions. 5pm to 6pm was the allocated meet time and again the successful Lean Coffee format was used to generate topics. Interestingly, and perhaps because those attending now knew each other, there was a lot less indecision on what topics to pick up and discuss with the group diving directly into discussions on co-existence of open source and Tosca test automation tooling, distributed execution, CI/CD pipeline integration, versioning and how best to structure the Tosca repository to allow for flexibility, scalability and growth.

That being said, the meeting generated a fair few topics of interest.

One of the major benefits of creating communities like this is the ability for those at the coalface of using Tosca to share ideas, experiences and learnings. As the host, I enjoyed the opportunity to step back and let the conversation flow. And flow it did. The meet up finished just on 7pm and even then people were still talking as they exited the event.

Our next Tosca Test Managers Meetup will be in the new year. Targeting the March / April timeframe.
