AUCKLAND, New Zealand (6 July 2026) - TTC Global, an independent, global software quality engineering consultancy, today announced the launch of a dedicated data testing practice for the Australian market. The practice is available to clients immediately.

The practice addresses a category of risk that conventional software testing was not built to catch. Data has no fixed "correct" state to test against in the way functional code does, and when validation is treated as a generic extension of standard QA, the risk that reaches production is disproportionate to the effort spent finding it. The new practice is designed for clients undertaking data migrations, embedding data operations into delivery pipelines, or adopting AI at pace without the assurance frameworks to govern it.

Rather than treat data testing as one undifferentiated service, the practice separates the discipline into four distinct areas, each requiring its own methodology:

  • Business rules data testing: building a shared vocabulary between business stakeholders, subject matter experts and developers, so that what is delivered reflects what the business actually needs.
  • Data migration testing: extending the tester's role to include development work, so testers can work around project bottlenecks and support the technical demands of a migration as they change.
  • Data operations testing and automation: embedding verification directly into an organisation's automation and delivery pipelines, tailored to sector-specific needs across banking, medical and infrastructure environments.
  • AI data testing and benchmarking: addressing a problem conventional testing was not designed for: AI systems with no single correct answer, where repeated testing can alter results and produce false confidence. This work is AI-enhanced, applying automation and data-driven insight to accelerate benchmarking while human engineers retain accountability for what the results mean.

"Data has become central to every transformation programme our clients run, and the risk it carries is rarely assessed with the same rigour applied to functional testing," said Thomas Hadorn, Group CEO of TTC Global. "Treating data quality as an afterthought is how confidence gets built on assumption rather than evidence. This practice exists because our clients need an independent, structured way to know where that risk actually sits before it reaches production."

The practice draws on the experience of Yaron Assa, Senior Consultant at TTC Global, whose background spans testing, data and automation across medical IT environments, including electronic health records, genetics platforms and laboratory information management systems (LIMS).

"Australian organisations are running data migrations and adopting AI at a pace their assurance frameworks haven't caught up with," said Matt Wiggins, Regional CEO Australia at TTC Global. "The services offered by this practice provide a way to close that gap with a team that understands the specific technical demands of data work, not a generic extension of our existing testing services."

The launch reflects TTC Global's broader operating model: clients engage the practice locally in Australia, while drawing on software quality engineering expertise the firm has accumulated globally across SAP, Oracle, Workday, Guidewire, and other enterprise platform environments. That expertise is concentrated and shared worldwide through TTC Global's Global Centre of Excellence in Pune, India. TTC Global operates independently of systems integrators and platform vendors, meaning its assessment of data quality risk is not filtered through a delivery partner's commercial interest in the outcome.
