GOVIS Test Professionals Meetup Recap: AI in Testing & Testing AI
On 19 May 2025, TTC Global co-facilitated a GOVIS Test Professionals Meetup, diving into real-world applications of AI in software testing within the government space.

As part of the regular engagement between GOVIS
and the Government Information Technology community, TTC Global is proud to be a sponsor and facilitator for their Software Testing events, enabling the New Zealand Government Test Professional community to meet and share ideas, information and knowledge that collectively raise the profile and capability of software testing.
Event Overview:
Our 19th May 2025 event had the title “AI in Testing and Testing AI – The Hype is Real 😊.” AI is looking to be crossing the threshold from being talked about to being used within the testing domain in Government. We were stoked to have presentations from the GCDO team with the Department of Internal Affairs and TTC Global New Zealand, as well as announce the results of a brief (and unscientific) survey on the use of AI across those that registered for the event. With over 150 people registered for the event, this clearly was a topic of real interest to the GOVIS Software Test Professional community.
Key Messages:
- New Zealand Government are taking an enabling approach to AI usage, with a focus on Safe and Responsible use.
- There are real world examples of AI in Testing and Testing AI across the Government community.
- There are pragmatic uses of AI in Testing, and pragmatic approaches that can be taken to testing AI.
- We have a generation of people that have not yet seen the Terminator movie series.
