Christchurch Test Professionals Meetup - our largest yet!

The second meetup in the community is always a good litmus test on how much the community itself values getting together and exchanging information. 40 people proved that the Christchurch Software Test Professionals Community very much values getting together and exchanging information. A huge thanks to FoodStuffs South Island for hosting the event and providing a venue large enough to accommodate everyone.

Following from our successful first meet where we derived a set of community themes and topics via Lean Coffee, this second meetup focussed on the different test automation tools used in the community. We had two very good and informative presentations:

• The first from Ryman Health Care on their use of code-based test automation. Their current state was well covered together with their focus on dashboards for real-time test automation execution progress and automated test case pass / fail rates. • The second from FoodStuffs South Island themselves – a well-prepared and delivered presentation on their use of low-code / no-code test automation technology and their journey to date on implementing and learning to use the environment. Their presentation can be accessed here: click to download.

Two contrasting approaches to test automation in the local community that generated a lot of questions – and a lot of discussion in the post event networking over the provided drinks and nibbles.

There is something special about seeing people across many organisations collaborating and sharing. TTC together with the local Test Professionals Network is collaborating to ensure that these meetups continue and continue to add value to the local community.
