A Look Back on the Canterbury Tech Summit 2024

Introducing TTC Global's Christchurch Team to the Canterbury Market

Judy Mc Kay

It’s been a couple weeks since the Canterbury Tech Summit, and I’m still feeling the energy. In our first appearance at the summit, TTC Global’s local Christchurch team was joined by members from our Auckland and Wellington office. In addition to participating as an exhibitor, we had the opportunity to sponsor the excellent lunch, and it was satisfying to know that the participants were well fed.

The Canterbury Tech Summit provided the perfect backdrop to introduce TTC Global to the Christchurch community; attendees welcomed our team with open arms. We were also able to introduce our sister company, Data Domain. While TTC Global provides professional services for all things software testing, Data Domain provides consulting services for all things data. Between the two of us, we had great traffic at our booth, which was certainly helped by our variety of merchandise such as mop top pens, phone holders and equally important desk enhancers such as stress balls. Everyone in testing needs a stress ball now and then!

Aside from the food and the vendors, the event had some excellent speakers, and Jeremy Corbett shined as the MC in the theatre. The venue, Te Pai Christchurch, was a beautiful setting and provided ample space for the almost 700 attendees. The factor that is hard to quantify is the happiness that pervaded the event. People were enjoying catching up with old friends and making new acquaintances as well as conducting a bit of business. I personally enjoyed being back among the tech population of Christchurch to share stories, catch up on what has been happening, and to make plans.

If you’ve not had a chance to attend a Canterbury Tech event, I highly recommend it. The Summit is the culmination of the tech year and really has no equal. It was great to see everyone and wonderful to catch up. Let’s do it again next year!
